Canberra Mothercraft Society is saddened to learn that a fire has destroyed the old Wakefield Gardens in Ainslie, once a child health centre, established and run by CMS for many years.
ACT Policing is investigating the suspicious fire, which gutted the abandoned community building, early in the morning on 19th August 2025.
Given our historic links to the site, CMS has hopes the ACT Government will give consideration to a new building that will serve the community — and its many young families — as well as the old one once did.
